Every graduate must wear the correct CSHS robe and may only adorn the robe with the cords or stoles that have been officially bestowed on them from CSHS. CSISD has approved the following honor cords: Silver (StuCo), Blue/Gold (Journalism), Blue (AVID). Military enlistees may wear an official stole presented by their service branch recruiter. No other cords may be worn.
Graduate caps may be decorated with prior approval only.
Before Commencement, you will need to cool iron your gown using a low heat setting. Please do not hem the Commencement gown.
Graduates should wear attire appropriate for the dignity and decorum of the ceremony underneath the graduate gown.

Ladies must wear a dress or a blouse and skirt/slacks.
Plan your footwear so that you are able to walk from the gym down the ramps to your seating on the floor of Reed Arena. You will also need to be able to navigate stairs to access the stage to receive your diploma. |
Gentlemen must wear a dress shirt and tie and slacks. NO JEANS OR TENNIS SHOES.

Caps are to be placed on the top of the head so that the mortarboard is flat on top. Bobby pins are suggested to hold the cap in place. Tassels are to be placed on the RIGHT side of the cap during the ceremony. Graduation caps may be decorated but MUST ADHERE TO CERTAIN RULES. Decorating guidelines can be found in the document below. WARNING: Decorated caps will be checked upon arrival at graduation. If your cap is found to be inappropriate, your cap will be confiscated and returned after the ceremony. We suggest that you decorate a cardboard cut-out that can easily be taped on the cap, but also removed easily if needed. |
Please bring only car keys that fit in pockets into Reed Arena. If personal items are brought to graduation that do not fit in a student's pocket, they will be checked in, and students will have to pick up these items after the ceremony. Items may not be left in the staging area. Students MAY NOT carry purses, phones, keys, etc. in their hands as they enter graduation. The school is not responsible for any lost items.
Any distracting items, such as noisemakers and beach balls will be confiscated before the ceremony and not returned.
